Hi, I have a Dell computer with Windows XP Pro SP2 installed on it. It is a
brand new loaded computer with VPN and Remote Desktop configured to be
connected to our corporate server. I have been trying to get this computer
to connect remotely to our servers through the terminal server. The VPN
client will connect successfully to the firewall to enter. However, we are
not able to use Remote Desktop to connect to any of our servers that is
behind the firewall at our remote office. We have another desktop and laptop
at this location that has successfully connected to the servers using Remote
Desktop. However, this new computer is not able to connect. There are no
error messages, it just timeout after awhile. Could anyone come up with some
ideas or suggestiion on how I could get connected? Or what may be preventing
this particular computer from connecting? Please email me with a response.
My email is wilson.chow@gowireless.net.

Are you using the standard MS VPN client or a third-party IPSEC-based
one like Cisco?
Also, once you are connected via VPN, can you access any other network
resources (like File Servers or Print Servers)?
