Hi,

Does anyone know about this camera. If so, what are they like?

Panasonic MD9000EN - PRO Camcorder (This is 800,000 1ccd)

I am also looking at the new Panasonic GS400 3ccd camera

Both about the same price.

I only need the video side of them.

Have the GS400. Colors are excellent. The manual focus is a nice bonus
feature on this unit.

Cons: Not so great in low light. But then, you have to shell out the big
bucks to get really good results in that area.

Have you tried the external mic IN facility ? I read where there is
also a Audio IN vol control albiet in software in the menu. Is that correct?

I typically use external mic's and the quality is good. However I am
embarassed to say I have not looked into whether I can control the input
level. If you have read that it does, they you are probably correct.

Another minor but nice thing. This camera will do analog pass through if
you need to convert something now and then.
