other PC shuts down when direct assistance connects, help!

alright, every time i try to connect to my dads pc to work through remote
assitance. his PC shuts down. we have tried windows messenger, and all the
others to connect, but everytime i accept the invitation, when it goes to
connect (and accepts the connection), his PC shuts down. please help!

I would make sure his PC has the latest video/graphic card drivers installed. Beyond that
look at the "Event Log" on his machine to see if there are any messages of interest.

awesome, thanx! just for reference, how do i check the event log? i think i
know how, but my mind is drawing a blank at the moment...

i also should note that my dad is on AOL and im on a T3. maybe those are
causing a problem.

Go to "Start | Hep and Support" and search for "event log"...

I don't use AOL, or know anyone that does, so I can't say if that could be an issue or
not.
