screen resolution

I have a desktop with 1280x1024 resolution and a laptop with 1024x768
resolution. Each time I use remote desktop, my desktop screen gets
rearranged. How can I avoid that?

I have the same prob and coz I couldnt find a solution I arranged my desktop
icons to fit in 1024x768
