colors different in overlay mode

Hi, I just came to an annoying color problem with playback in any of my
media players. As long as it utilizes the overlay video acceleration,
the video stream is far darker than it should be. Therefore screenshots
or videopreviews in editing software like Vegas, that doesn't use the
overlay mode, are brighter, and obviously more realistic.
I use a quite new nvidia card, and I updated the drivers to Forceware
Version 77.56, but nothing changed. I can use the color Gamma options
for the overlay, but that seems to make the image even worse.
