I'm trying out Premiere Pro 1.5 here, and i was wondering, how do I use screen on a video? I have a video (white and black) and I just wanna
use screen on it and put it on top of another video. But I can't find this effect anywhere...

Describe the effect you are seeking. I don't recognize the
name "screen" and perhaps others don't either. And perhaps
that is why you aren't finding any info about it.

Ah, well, in photoshop if you have more than 2 layers, you can set the blending mode of the layer to screen (so the darker the parts of the
image the more translucent it is). I just tried After Effects (6.5 I believe, the one on thier page), and it works pretty much the same way
as photoshop. Just go up to Layer -> Blending Mode -> Screen. I cant find that premiere, there is a Screen Key but that doesn't seem to
work...

Ah, this is called "keying" in Premiere. Look for Chroma key or, more like
what you want, alpha keying. But you have to key a video. In other words,
you need two or three videos to make it work.

You can either have one on bottom and make the second one see-through. Or
you can have one on bottom and make the second one see-through according to
a third one.

Picture in picture is the correct term. Place one video clip on Video 1.
This is the underneath video. Place another video on Video 2. Highlight the
video on Video 2. In the area to the left of the playback monitor you will
see the Effects Control. Hit the arrowhead next to Motion. Look for Scaling
and unfold that if necessary. In the Scaling area you will see the number
100%.

Place your mouse over these numbers. Hold down your mouse button and move
the mouse to the left. This makes the scale number smaller. Don't release
your mouse button while doing this. If you want to change it to a larger
size once you see you may have gotten it too small, hold down the mouse
button over the numbers and move the mouse to the right. This makes the
numbers go up. This creates a picture in picture effect.

If you want the video to grow or shrink add key frames at points along the
timeline and change the scaling as described above.
