Do you join a squad or take orders from the team mate that is hiding? LoL.. I’m a noob and just join and play and notice people like to group up in some tanks and head forward.
New rig is killer and on-line play was just about as good as playing in single mode. At least last night. Zero leg, no matter what. Very little leg here and there, but even for me I was unbothered by it. With BF2 playing so d*mn good now I’ll be playing more on-line.

The team mate that is hiding is the commander and only squad leaders can take orders from him. Squad leaders then pass on those orders to their squad if they choose to.
To start you should be joining a squad every game. Get a microphone and communicate with your squad.
DH....I guess I should hook up the mic. that came with the game. I see. I was practicing on single mode and was wondering why the squad was showing up where I was at when I didn’t accept the order. Another time I notice I could spawn right next to the squad leader, which seems handy. I’ll have to figure out my keys and get some practice in. Thanks.

Talking about mics and BF2. I have a mic, but it's not working with BF2 and I don't know why. It's working with CSS and Skype, so I guess it's in the software? Anyone has an idea what I could look at next?
I thought I spoke to soon, because one server I did have some lag, but other ones didn’t. I was worried it might have been the time of day I was playing. That’s cool, I’ll juts stick with the smooth servers.
START RUN All Programs/accessories Entertainment Sound Recorder.
Test your hardware there to make sure it works then dable with the game set-up. Also make sure your Sound in Control panel is set to use default devices, your on board sound.
Thanks for the heads up SoD, DH, but as I said in my first post, the mic is working fine in CSS and Skype, I'll try the sound recorder as well but I'm pretty confident that'll work too.
It is real strange that your MIC works with Skype a program used by gammers to multy_chat within games. They use the game chat and then they hook up and talk on skype as well and no one else can hear them. Admins and clan members use Skype Heavely as a tool as well as a new program called Ventrillo if I spelled that right.
Just for shits and giggles make sure your USB drivers are 1.0 and 2.0.... I mean in your Motherboard BIOS it should have an option to set them to 1.0 alone or 2.0 alone or both 1.0/2.0 You want both so you support old and new devices my old scanner 5 years old is 1.0 works fine.
I know some sound cards quit or do not respond if USB 1 and 2 are not enabled in BIOS but then again your MIC works on other things so your audio is working.
As a test you could install Counter Strike or Day of defeat off the old CD's or Install Steam in full and either game because they have a MIC configuration utility in the game options. You set MIC talk level and Headphone recive levels.
I can't tell if you are missing a set-up in options for BF2 because i dont own the game I have Steam games and Call Of Duty2 that also has MIC set-ups in the game console.
