I got Womble's MPEG Video Editor to do what I need for it to do (long
story) but have run into a weird quirk. I put together a new system for
video editing including an Athlon64 X2 4200 chip, 1GB RAM and WinXP Pro
64. The machine is now running great. Vegas Video is about twice as fast
rendering as it is on my other machine, Athlon 2000. But Womble is
definitely slower. I'm sure it's got to do with either or both the facts
that the machine has two processors and Womble doesn't support that,
and/or it doesn't play nice with WinXP 64. I'm thinking of making the
machine dual boot with 32 bit XP just to see, but that's a lot of work
for experimenting. Anyone care to make an educated guess why Womble
would be slower on my new mega-machine?
