Win 7 Family Pack Question

Forum Windows 7 : General Discussion Win 7 Family Pack Question

I was talking with some people at my local Best Buy about the family upgrade pack. The salesman and 2 customers were having a heated discussion about the contents of the package. I was under the impression that the upgrade was for users of Vista Home Premium who wanted to move up to Win 7 Home, as was the salesman. The customers stated that the packaging itself says that you can "upgrade any version of Vista to Win 7 Home. I'm confused about this and as there were nothing but empty display packaging I never was able to read it myself. Does anyone out there know the truth about this? I used an OEM Win 7 Pro disk to wipe my unused Vista Ultimate out but if what I heard earlier is true I could have gotten 3 Win7Home keys for the same price.

Yes you can, but if your using Vista ultimate it will do a clean install to Home premium. The three pack is for W7 Home Premium at $150.

It uses the same key for all three installs. It comes with two disks one 32 bit and one 64 bit.

Thanks for the heads up people. I'll leave 7 Pro on my back-up, test bed, rig and go 7 Home for my main box. After Vista I'll never buy MS Ultimate anything. What a waste of dinero.

No problem, you can try downloading codecs. There is one called CCCP or some other ones....
