PowerDirector MultiTrim

Hi

All I want is to remove the commercials from some video clips I have. Most
of them are AVI format.

I go into PowerDirector, Multi trim and I set the parameters for the
beginning and ends of each clip. Then I go to "Produce Movie".

I do not want to select from all the available parameters. I want the
result movie to be the exact same format/compression like the original
movie. How do I do this?

I try different combinations, and always I end up with a file much larger
than the original.

Thanks
Bob

Vitrual Dub from www.virtualdub.org should do what you want for AVI files.
After trimming, select Video - Direct Stream Copy and it'll save the
modified version properly (i.e. not writing the file with a new codec which
is apparently what's happening to you).

I will check it out. But I would also like to know how to do it in
PowerDirector.

Can somebody PLEASE tell me how to save an edited (trimmed) video, with the
same format as the original in PowerDirector?

I did dounload Vitrual Dub. When I try to play an AVI fole, it gives me an
error message about the sound sorce or something.

I really do not want to learn yet another software.

Thanks
Bob
