What is that clip board thing called they use in movies to identify the
beginning of a movie sene?

It is usually black and white with a little piece that opens up like an
alligator and they snap it down and say " take two "

Or clapperboard, depending which country you're in!

For the OP... The function of the clapperboard was (and sometimes
still is) to both identify a take and to allow the easy
synchronisation of pictures and sound, as these are recorded
separately. Hence the scene information is both written and spoken,
and the editor lines up the moment the two halves 'clap' together
visually with the clap on the soundtrack.

PS: It is *NOT* a "prop", it is a working tool.

They're also called a clap board.
