I have several MJPEG videos which refuse to show regardless of the
audio / video codec packages I install (all I get are the old school
color bars). GSpot adn AVICodec both say the video uses MJPeg Morgan
Codec and no audio codec used. I have Morgan MJPEG codecs installed
however when I play the video it keeps showing me the Multi-Colored
vertical bars. I have seen this with several videos I have downloaded
recently so I know I must be a missing codec on my machine.

Anyone see anything or know of anything I am missing. Thanks for the
help.

What software application are you attempting to play these
WITH?

I've never seen an application that would display color bars
if it couldn't decode the file.

Sounds like there is more to this story than you have disclosed.
What is the file type? Where did you get the files? Can the source
of the files play them? What codecs do THEY have installed?
How did they make the file in the first place?

I got them from edonkey. At first I just wrote it off as some one
posting garbage to increase his upload / download ratio. However I
have seen so many lately I am starting to wonder (The-RealWorld.De
going down has made life less desireable). I get a lot of these when
I download non realworld.de entourage 2x14 and Rome 1x3 (among others).
The file is an avi, gspot says it is encoded with Morgan but with no
audio codec. Is there another way I can really crack into these files
and find out what is up?
