We are trying to print locally from a remote connection. Remote PC has Win
XP Home. Host PC has Win XP Pro.

I found a fix to apply to the registry (the printer is an AIO and uses a
port called TS001, TS002, etc.)

Do I need to apply this fix to the PC hosting the RDC (the "server") or to
the remote PC (the one that has the printer connected to it?)

I am almost sure it is the latter, but just wanted to confirm with the
experts. Is that the case?

By the way, the fix is to add a new DWORD Value with:

FilterQueueType=FFFFFFFF

to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\Default\Addins\RDPDR

Thanks,
Eduardo

You apply it to the Remote Desktop client.

The other critical thing is that the printer-drivers (for the model of AIO
printer that you use) need to be installed on both the client and the
server.

Thanks Robin.

Yes, I had installed the printer and was able to see it listed on the TS001
port. But printing to it didn't do anything.

Hopefully this will fix it.

The fix didn't work. See my posting dated 8/3/05.
