Not sure what you are asking..
You use Windows XP Remote Desktop to remote into a Windows 2000 server (so I
assumed you turned on Terminal Services for Administration or..?) and you
cannot see the applications running on the server? What are you trying to
see/do? Can you be more descriptive/exact?

Ok,I want to connect 2 machines, mine with XP OS and a server with W2K
using RDC, I have some application running in this server (i.e. an
excel file), I want to modify the active worksheet in the excel file
that I know is running but I can’t see it, I can’t even see the
logo application in the taskbar (it seems the excel is not open, but
it is).

When I connect 2 machines with OS XP using RDC, I do the same (try to
see the excel file opened in the other machine) and I have no problem
to see the file and to make changes to it, and I can perfectly see the
application active in the taskbar.

I tried to use this sentence: "mstsc.exe myserver.rdp /console" but it
didn’t work. Do I have to configure something in the server W2K or
in the connection?

I hope than this explanation is more clear.

Enrique Martinez.

Your problem is that W2K does not support Remote Desktop in the way that XP
Pro does. If the W2K server supports Terminal Services, then an incoming
call from a Remote Desktop client will create a new TS session on the
server, which will be quite independent of the session running on the server
console itself: that is why you do not see any of the applications open in
the TS session.

That is the sort of thing you need to try doing, but there might be
configuration required on the server to enable console connections. In what
way did it "not work"?
