I just bought a second user system which has inside it:

Jetway J-7BXAN Rev 2.1 board

(2M Flash ROM V.7BXAS_2/7BXAN_2 L01 08-17-1999 BIOS v4.51PG + P&P
Extension V1.0A)

Pentium III 450

256MB RAM (64+64+128)

I think it's V.Slow – CPU seems to be saturated most of the time when
it's not doing very much (Win98)

I have a Pentium II/300 that seems to go much faster! (Different
system)

I went to pcpitstop.com and it gives me a very poor score for memory
transfers (I get 189MB/s – The site says I should be getting up to
751MB/s).

I have confirmed that L2 cache is enabled. The DIP Switches (U12) were
set for 3x I have changed them to 4.5x but this makes no difference….

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I note that in the
http://www.j-mark.com/dl/dl.html
site there is a Pentium III BIOS:

J-7BXAN/BX
BXAS2D01.bin
C01 Support Pentium III CPU (08-17-2000)
Is this worth a try in my 2M Flash ROM?
Is it a correct BIOS for this board?

Many thanks in advance for your trouble,
Stefan (New to mainboards & BIOS!)

ps PCPitstop is showing my P3 450 at around 300 MIPS (not 1200 as
expected!)
???
