I have a PC to sort out after a customers son replaced Windows Me with
Windows 2000. When starting the machine (normally or in safe-mode) the BSOD
appears shortly before the desktop would appear. While the Windows 2000
logo is showing the progress bar reaches about two thirds the way across
before the BSOD.

The relevant STOP number is: 0x000000A1, and the error is described as:
"Inconsistencies detected in the PCI Bus drivers internal structures".

The motherboard is a Jetway 663ASPro, and I have updated the BIOS (Award)
from version A05 to version A15 without making any difference. I have reset
the various BIOS screens to their default values again with no change to the
problem.

There are no PCI cards installed in the machine. The graphics card is AGP
and the modem attaches via USB.

I've searched on Google and can only find reference to a similar error
message when using Linux!!!! :-$

Has anyone got any ideas on how to resolve the problem?

Do I need to tell the customer he needs to revert to Windows Me?
