Help connecting printers under Win 7

Hello,
Has anyone been successful in running an older HP T45xi print/scan/fax machine under the HP universal print driver on the new MS Win 7? We have purchased a print cable to USB cable adapter to connect the t45 to a new pavilion just purchased, but we are unable to find T45 drivers outright. Is the USB universal driver the right approach?

I'd be inclined to see if Windows can detect the printer for you, and if not try using the Laserjet 5 driver (if it's a laser printer) or the deskjet 610C drivers if it's an inkjet. Unlikely to get scanning and faxing to work but it may print.
