I have recently installed Windows XP 64bit on my machine. I regulary use RDC
to connect to my home computer from work. I have just built a new machine
and intially had Windows XP 32bit version installed. I was able to connect
thru RDC to the machine with no problem. I had decided to use Windows XP
64bit on the system as it is an AMD 64 3500+ chip. I had tested RDC thru my
home network and had no problems connecting to it thru the local IP
connection. But when I try to connect thru the internet IP connection I get
"Because of an error in data encryption, this session will end. Please try
connecting to the remote computer again." I have checked the network
configuration, checked the Windows Firewall settings, which are set to allow
RDC, I have even disabled it and my AntiVirus software but still get the
error. I do not have a router on my system, I am going thru a DSL modem with
a Linksys switch to connect 3 computers with static IP address to the
internet. I can connect to my Windows 2003 Server's Internet IP connection
thru RDC with no problems. I had checked in technet but did not find
anything to help.
