Has anyone updated to the latest bios available from Biostar-usa.com? I
flashed, hoping it would fix a long beep I sometimes get when I boot
the PC (one long beep, over and over...I have to pull the power cord
from the PC to get it to boot). From their description of the updated
bios, I thought it might just solve my issue. Not the case.

Anyhow, after I flashed to NCD0111.BFP, XP would not recgonize my modem
nor my wireless adapter, and it displayed the CPU temp 20 degrees
higher than normal. I attempted to clear the CMOS, with no luck. It
wouldn't even recognize the onboard LAN.

I had to flash back to an older BIOS (NCD1102.BFP) so that Windows
could see my missing PCI devices, and display the correct CPU temp.
I've updated BIOS's many, many times, including this one with the
latest as it become available. I've never had an issue upgrading until
this time.

The URL you posted shows NDC0125.BPF as the latest version.

Here is a message from Biostar. I appreciate their quick response to my
question, and to the updated bios to fix the problem.

My Question: Can you tell me the updates/fixes which were made between
BIOS versions NCD0111.BFP and the latest NCD0125.BFP?

Biostar Reply: The NCD0111.BFP had the PCI slots 4 and 5 disabled. The
NCD0125.BFP fixed that problem.

It works good. It didn't fix my long beep problem though. If my PC
stays off for a while (like after a power failure), it won't post and
generates long beeps. If I unplug the PC from the wall for a few
seconds, it'll then boot-up.

So, the BIOS before this one is ok to use, as far as my system is
concerned.
