here is tyhe skinny. we have five systems on Pro and want them to use quicken
enterprise. we originally wanted to do it remotely. but now i think terminal
services is the way to go. Can I use one of the xp pro systems as the server
or do I need to run a server software?

You need to run server software.
XP pro is limited to a single session at a time.
