Can't Install XP?

My CD-Rom doesnt work so I put the XP disc in my cd-rw
drive and the install screen comes up but it says there is
a Corrupt file, and when the odd time it doesnt say this
it goes to the install process but freezes..any
suggestions?

have u booted from the cd drive to install xp? or are u running it within
the XP environment. try to boot from the cd drive.

Do You need to delete your current OS then install XP?

No, you can install over most versions of Windows (not all)
or you can dual boot.

Well I tried booting my comp from the cd and it says a
file is missing.
