I'm a strong supporter of the Linksys BEFSR41. ITs $50 US so shouldn't be too much for you. This router has a load of features and is very upgradeable through firmware. Linksys has been actively supporting it with frequent firmware updates that constantly add new features and more performance. I currently have 8 computers on it (added a switch) and an access point.

Its also claimed to be the only soho router to properly support running servers behind NAT, namely FTP. You can find this info all over the net Particularly at DSLReports.com.

Good luck.
