i know i may take some flak for doing this but anyway i have is7-g mob p4
2.4ghz 800mhz fsb. I currently have 2 hd on ide 1 and cd and dvd on ide 2.
i would like to make a wd raptor sata as main boot disk. what settings
should i use in bios. thanks ron

I have the plain IS7 and there is a place in the bios where you set the boot
order. Works fine!

set the Intel ICH5R controller, also known as the Onchip controller, in the
raid mode with raid bios enabled. do this even with only one drive on the
controller so that it will be in the higher performance mode of bypassing
the PCI bus for data transfer. Set the Boot Priority to Add-in PCI device
and then below that, set the add-in PCI device to be Onchip SATA. That
should do it.
