Currently the $400 ATI with 256 MB of VRAM, I think 9800
whatever. But unless you play games at the cutting edge of
new, you can get by with a lesser amount of VRAM or even a
older version.

depends what you want to do and how much money you have, and if we're
talking extream how much bang yr sys has.
same as asking whats the best car

There is NO best card for XP. There is only a best card for you and whatever
it is you use the computer for.
