Is it better (performance wise)to use the standard XP IDE instead of the
supplied NVIDIA SW driver?

Currently showing "Nvidia - 5/13/02, version 6.1.2600.0" as the installed
driver version.

I am running NTFS, single partition (not dynamic disk) 30gb ata 100 drive
and am not pleased w/ atto scores thus far. Only thing on the drive is XP
Pro w/ all updates and updated NVIDIA stuff from Abit's site. Current BIOS
is D22.

Thanks

Ron M.

I would rollback to the standard XP drivers. You can always try the
newest Nvidia IDE drivers though.

I replaced them w/ the MS drivers - much better performance.

Thanks

I couldn't get XP Pro to boot w/the latest Nvidia SW IDE drivers. I had to
revert to a previous setup.
