Last week i bought the Proxim 802.11a/b/g pci card and i went to
install it. After i inserted the card into the computer and turned it
on and windows XP stated with the whole thing that it found a new
card... I canceled it and went to use the CD installation that came
with the card. The installation went fine and gave no errors.
Afterwards i saw that under network connections their was nothing new
for the card, so i decided to restart the computer and see if it would
show up then. When i turned the computer back on it came up with the
whole thing that it found a new card again. This time i ran it but it
came back, saying it couldn't find a driver for it. After that i went
to the proxim website and tried to download their newest driver, but
again the same thing happened after installing it. After that i went
to see in the device manager if it had listed the card under network
devices there. What i found was no it hadn't, but their was a new
device under the category "other devices" with the name "PCI device"
and a exclamation point showing that "This device is not configured
correctly. (Code 1)". Also i saw that every so often it when i
restarted my computer the new device box would still come up, even
though i had checked off last time don't bother me about this device
again. Anybody know what is going wrong?

thanks for the help,

dan
