HP Photosmart Cartridge Failed

Hello all...

I have an HP Photosmart 7550 printer. It takes 3 cartridges: black,
color and photo. The black and color work fine, but when I insert a
photo cartridge, it immediately gives me the following error on the
printer:

"Photo Cartridge (#58) failed. Replace it, or remove it to print
using reserve mode."

Reserve mode works, but the colors are a little off. I'd really like
to use the photo cartridge. I've tried a new photo cartridge (even
new black and color cartridges). I've tried cleaning the cartridges
and even the hard reset process from HP's website. Still doesn't
work. HP support was really helpful (not) in telling me that my
printer was out of warranty. Any ideas?
