Just got a new IC7-G (max II) for my brother's system along with two
sticks of OCZ PC3200 256Meg each memory chips, "C2, enhanced latancy".

The processor is an Intel P2.4C and the plan was to run DDR400 in dual
channel mode.

I configured my own system last year with the IC7-G and Corsair 222 low
latancy and it worked okay, but needed the memory timing bumped up a
hair.

The new box with the OCZ memory won't boot up in dual channel mode. In
single channel mode, it's stable and works fine.

I moved the OCZ memory to the other system and the OCZ memory won't do
dual channel there either. And with the Corsair memory in the new
IC7max II board the board will run in dual channel mode.

So, I guess we have to RMA the OCZ memory and get something else. The
question is what to buy instead that will work on the first try. We
don't want to get into sending expensive memory back and forth. I'm
looking for advice on what folks have had success with.

Oh, and yes, there were only two sticks configured and they were plugged
into sockets 1 and 3. The systems are not overclocked. Changing
various timing setting to slower values in bios didn't help.

You're not the first person to find that OCZ memory doesn't perform the way
it's claimed. It might be worth contacting them to report your problem and
see what they have to say about it, but if you don't want to be bothered
with the hassle, just get some Corsair or Mushkin.

I have had nothing but excellent results with Corsair. did you boost the
DDR voltage to at least 2.7 volts?
