empty cdrom continuous read

i am having having a 2 cd drive. cdrom [samsung 52x-
secondary master] & a cd-rw [plextor-secondary slave].
Even though my cdroms r empty ie no cds inserted , it jus
keeps on reading n d light on d cdrom keeps on blinking
as it would when its actually reading a cd n also d
cursor on d screen appears as it would when its reading a
cd. Earlier this problem was only with d samsung cdrom
but now it dosent show tat cdrom in 'my computer' n now d
same problem is there with my plextor. My both cdroms r
operational as i have attached it to my other pcs infact
i have attached it to my same pc as primary devices n
checked. Also i recently installed an anivirus
software 'quick heal' after which this problem started.
What can be d possible reason is it cuz of d antivirus
software or my ide secondary channel of my mother board
is getting screwed up . Any help would be highly
appreciated
