Sorry if this has been covered anywhere, but I ran a
quick search and didn't see anything relevant. My
problem is I bought a new Maxtor 200gig HD and did a
fresh install of XP home on my system (P4, Abit IC7 mb,
etc). Since then my TDK DVD burner doesn't seem to like
the drive letter I assigned it, "X". About half the time
when I reboot it comes up as "F". I have a C, D, and E
drive so obviously it's just assigning the next available
letter.

I've used X as my cd or dvd letter for years now and
never had this problem. In frustration I went ahead and
repartioned, formatted, and reinstalled windows, but it's
still doing it. So my question I guess is has anyone
seen this behavior, and/or does anyone know what's
causing it?

TIA,

Jeff
