Im not to sure where i am suppose to post this, so I will do it here. When i tried backing up my system, I got the fallowing message:

"Windows Backup failed while trying to read from the shadow copy of one of the volumes being backed up. Please check in the event logs for any relevant errors."

I got this message 2 out of 2 tries.

More info:

I was trying to back up my system to a drive( on the same HD as my OS: but partioned to a different drive letter), which might not have enough to fit the complete back up?

should i locate the file to my C: drive and try it again?

Any suggestion?

Thank you

You can't backup the system to the same hardrive as the system resides on. System backup, backs up all partitions on a single drive and a second independant drive is required.
You can backup files and settings using Windows Easy Transfer Wizard to the second partition.
A systems backup will require you to purchase a second drive, either internal or an external usb drive.
