How is the USB port on a pc attached to the inside of the computer?

What can you do with firewire that you can't do with usb 2.0?

Felix, USB ports are usually a part of the Motherboard though you can get
additional USB Ports with a PCI
Card or Hub or Router. Firewire was developed by Apple and has been around
longer than the faster USB
2.0. But was much faster than the original USB 1.0. It is the connector of
choice for Digital Cameras and
Camcorders and for Video editing. USB is the connector or choice for
Printers, Scanners and External
Storage devices.
