this week my onboard lan has gone bananas.
it shows in device manager and is enabled in bios.
the driver won't install, either by running the original cd or
manually via device manager. it just hangs about 98% done.
is this common on this board or for onboard lan implementations
generally?

I read somewhere about a similar case where the fix was to remove it from
the list in device manager, disable it in BIOS, re-boot.
Power off, power on, re-enable, and reinstall.
Might be worth a try.
