AMD will not only accelerate the transition from Socket A to 754 in the value segment, but also begin the move to the new Socket M2 for all its desktop platforms in the second quarter of 2006, Tom's Hardware Guide has learned. Foxconn motherboards to use SiS761GX chipset for AMD solution

Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) announced today that Foxconn Electronics (the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry) will use the SiS761GX chipset, an integrated AMD64 chipset supporting PCI Express (PCIe) x16 graphics interface, for two of Foxconn's WinFast-branded motherboards for the AMD platform - the 761GXK8 MB-EKRS and 761GXK8MC-ERS.
