Hi, similar problems to Ross, but I have CRRW and DVDROM and run XP. I bought an ipod recently and have been merrily loading cds onto it, when all of a sudden I can't read the cds anymore. When I check the error log it seems to be saying there is a controller error. I'm also getting a Found New Hardware thing on startup, as if it is asking me to boot up the drivers for the drives, which are also coming up as not installed. I don't know what I've donw to create this, as one minute i was downloading cds and the next it had happened. I also seem to have lost the ability to run Windows medai Player sat the same time. Anybody any clues?

Try a system restore to a time before this happened. If this doesn't work
go to device manager and uninstall the drivers for the CRRW and DVDROM and
reboot.
