I just installed CS:Source, and everything seems to be working except
for one thing.

When I move around, there is a slight delay between pressing the key and
the action occuring. This does not happen with mouse movement or shooting.

Eg. walking back or forwards, and crouching are affected.

Any ideas?

No. It is not apparent when typing or in any other game.

I doubt it. Wireless technology is at a point where a human being
isn't able to detect any delay over that of a wired device. Unless
it's over 5 years old, or some cheap off brand, wireless would not be
the problem.

There were some posts on www.steampowered.com forums related to this but the
stupid search feature doesn't let you search for "lag" which is what they were
titled. Perhaps if you try re-posting there anyway someone may have found a fix.

A rather annoying feature of that forum search.. all keywords must be
more than 3 letters long... I remember running into this problem when
trying to research "56k" for a friend. In fact, last time i tried the
Steam forums' search feature a few weeks back, it had been disabled
completely.

if it's been re-enabled, you could get around it by typing "delay" or
"Keyboard" or something like that.

I used google to search the forums... there are a LOT of complaint about
this issue, and not many solutions yet.

Most suggestions seem to be to do with increasing overall performance.
This is not very helpful... I think the problem is more specific then that.

I have just played HL2 and the problem does not exist.

Maybe in CS:S, the key response only occurs when the server receives the
signal - in my case it takes about 60ms.
