I'd say an SB Live! sound card would compromise stability (if you plan
to use Windows).

I've a SB Live! 5.1 in mine (KT7A - I suspect the A has no relevance here).
No problems with Win 2K or XP.

More Information

There is a known compatibility issue with the KT7 and nVidia Ti4200 video cards. It causes the system to hang on boot when initializing the video card. You must reset the system until you get a successful boot. From then on the system is stable.

Latest bios did not help. Some success in adjusting the AGP signal strength in the bios, but still random hangs during booting.
