Hi,
Hopefully someone can sort this out.
I have purchased a wireless system from BT, a 2100 router
and a wireless card.
I have two desktops both running XP home. I have
installed the router, the BT wireless card into one
computer and a prism card is already installed in the
other.
I have installed the software and after a couple of
attempts have managed to get both computers talking to the
internet.
I have used the networking wizard and installed a
Workgroup with the same name on both computers. The
computers have differing names, it is not a signal problem
as they both report it as being excellent.
Computer A, which has Kaspersky anti virus and anti hacker
installed, cannot ping Computer B which has PC cillin
installed.
Computer B however can ping Computer A
Both computers have addresses that differ only in the last
figure, eg router is 1, A is 2 and B is 3.
Disabling and uninstalling all firewalls or virus software
have no effect on this, A still cannot ping B.
Apart from the difference in IP address, all the settings
appear to be the same on both computers.
I have searched this forum for a solution but with no
effect, I have tried visiting some excellent sites
recommended here but to no avail. HELP
