Hey there, I am running XP home and added a radeon 7000
vid card with hydravision...card works great with one
monitor tried to add the 2nd monitor(oh my puter is a
compaq presario 5420us amd athalon 1700).....the
motherboard has a built in vid card I guess..now that I
have the new card installed I can't find the original
display adapters or drivers for the other monitor....
(does that make sense?)?)?)...I've gone into bios to look
and into preference on my computer device manager etc.

appreciate any advice you might offer,

Thanks alot,

Brian

I'm I reading this right?

you have one monitor connected to the onboard vid, and the other connected to the Radeon.
You're trying to use both video inputs (the onboard and Radeon) at the same time?

you are correct sir :)

the radeon card is supposed to do it alone I believe but
I do have duel monitor capability with the series of
puter I have once I've installed a additional vid card.

thanks for the reply

If using a Radion card with hydrovision, ensure onboard video is disabled,
connect both monitors to radeon card.
And use hydrovision to configure as requ.
PS many games will only play in single monitor mode.

I would like to use the "embedded" output for the second
monitor if possible. The reason being is the second
output on the Radeon 7000 card is like a super "s" vid
output...(make sense?)..I was under the impression that
this particular compaq(5420us) was capable also of dual
monitor's. If not anyone know where to pick up adapters
to fit the radeon card to monitor setup?

thanks again,

Brian

Very often if you try to use two video cards there is a conflict, you have
to research to find two that will work together.
The last Radeon dual monitor card I bought came supplied with the adapters,
if yours didnt they should be sourced from local pc store, or on line.
The ATI site appears down at the moment, so I cannot lookup, but from memory
it should have a VGA adapter and DVI adapter (Its this that adapter is
required for) and S Video
