Hello all,
Ok after a virus attacked my computer and I am in the
process of fixing the system. I have pulled the hard
drive from the other computer and am slaving it into
another computer. When I reboot the system I cannot
locate the slave drive. I have tried to map it but cannot.
The original drive is formated XP and the master is
Windows 98. Could that be the source of the problem?

Hard drives have jumper on then in order to tell the drive electronics
whethe or not the drive is to be used as a Master or Slave drive. Some
drives also have a jumper to tell the Master drive that it should look for a
Slave drive.

Yes. If your Windows XP drive is formatted as an NTFS drive, then Windows 98
will not be able to "see" it.

Jen, if the drive with XP is formatted with NTFS then NO you can't see it
from a FAT32 Drive.
