XP computer died. Have backup on a HD. How to transfer data to Win 7 computer

My XP computer blew a capacitor on the mother board and is not useable. I backed up my data prior to that using "BACKUP MY PC" I now have the HD with the backup my pc files (apps and data).

Is there an easy way to transfer my XP backup using BACKUP MY PC to the Win 7 computer. All the methods I can find need two working computers.
