What is the difference between Postscript Level 1,2 and 3 printers. I
have a Microtek True Laser which is a level 2 printer. When I try and print
some pdf docs from the web it says I need a level 1 printer. Is my printer
obsolete now? I HATE companies that use different standards in their
products. You shouldn't have to buy three printers! :-(

Level 1 is the lowest (original) level. They are backwards compatible.
So you should have no problem.
