How to build a Network-Document-Server ?

Using fast Scanner with feeder to scan, then store into HDD/Document Server to send out immed via Emal or just temp. store into Docus.-Server ( for later usage....)

My ideal document server should be : AXIS -7000 ( from Axis Communication ) + storage¡Kas a standalone small unit with very simple operation : just put in email address, or add on email subject and push ¡§ SEND ¡§ button¡K.that is !

Of course, PC will do but that require lot of Clicks, turn-on, Win DOS,¡K.so on.. What I need is just a simple, very simple machine working together with Scanner + Doc software ..

This unit should also has USB port to import or export data, storage inf., transfer files to other devices, LAN & Dial-up modem internet connection.

Willing to reward few hundred US$ for anyone who can help to build this device.

Special note to Jihggs : cannot contact via your hotmail ? If you are inbterested in this subject, pls send me your new email address.

i guess my hotmail acct doesnt work any more, i must have let it expire. the hardware required doesnt seem too demanding. but the automation you require is not something that can be done with a packaged software application. it would require a lot of coding. thats not something any one will do for a couple bucks. your going to have to scratch the idea of total automation unless you are willing to hire a contractor to build a solution.

my computer is so fast, it completes an endless loop in less than 4 seconds!

James,
I think some software on the market can do the automation job for such fast scanning, storage inPDF,Imaging, ICR/OCR...
I need some guy to desing/put-in some hardware to build this unit.
Reward : sorry, it should read few hundred bucks...

ok, so for hardware requirements you need, lan, modem, and usb right?

I think it is more than just that...Pls refer to my 1st+2nd msg. It should have LAN-modem-HDD storage-small LCD on top cover-USB port for data transfer.
It shall work like this : after receiving data in OCR/ICR or Imaging from scanner, it will store into HDD for storage or sending via emails, there is s small LCD with small keyboard for typing email address or fill in subject, files names..
You could also refer to Axis 7000 ( www.Axis.com ). The final device should look like a small Notebook but with simple function such as Copier Machine or Fax Machine with just few Operation Buttons on Top to activate the operation.

so you want to make physical buttons that will run automated scripts? as for the lcd and small keyboard. will just a flat screen monitor do or does it have to be integrated into the machine? along with the small keyboard?

Yes, with physical button on top-cover, LCD intergrated but keyboard is separated with cable connection....So, the machine has 2 devices : The main Device with LCD/Button/HDD/DOS insdie as one box and 1 small keyboard separated...
Now, you have better image ?

i think you will have to forget the idea of an lcd built in. and one button to scan then automaticaly do either send it to a hard drive or email? i could do it if i really wanted but it would not be very pretty and would not be user freindly. i think your barking up the wrong tree. you should look into a company that specialises in this kind of software and hardware interopability.
