P4P800-VM: any obvious downsides?

I'd like to get:

ASUS 865G Chipset Motherboard for Intel Socket 478 CPU, Model
"P4P800-VM" -RETAIL
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-131-460&depa=0

....at newegg, and put in 2 GB in 4 512MB PC3200 (DDR400) . The system would be
used as a calculation node, connected to a KVM switch, so the Video is not very
important, and the network is 100baseT.

Will it work with this memory configuration?

Yes, it sure will work with four identical RAM modules. The AthlonXP is
better at math calculations, FWIW.

But it doesn't seem better at memory-intensive (streaming-type) math
calculations.
