Strange how crime reports were exaggerated by the media during the disaster, and then exaggerated the other way afterwords, by the same media channels.

So..from what I read it seems that they think the media was exagerrating because only four rapes were "officially" reported. But now they are getting more reports, so maybe the media wasn't over-reporting. And now people are pissed because they are under-reporting these latest reports that weren't initially reported.

Cripes-a-Mighty! It must really be a slow news day...

Merry Christmas Rich! Just got back from delivering a travel trailer to some folks that were still in a tent. They sure were glad to see it drive up. I dont see how people are getting through some of these cold nights.

I know what you mean, there are so many around still without a roof or shelter. It is good you are helping bring this to them.

It feels good to help most of these people but then there is the LOWER NINTH WARD. Its getting very dangerous to go in there and now we only go in the day. They will throw beer bottles or anything else they can get their hands on. I dont know where the boundaries of the ninth ward are so it may be just outside but its the wards residents. Hard to feel sorry for some of them.

What did you expect, Rich? Quite frankly, I'd expect nothing less from the media. In this day and age of 'speed-freaked ornamental culture' the media's role is not to discover the truth, but rather to be the first to 'expose' such sensationalism as the world has never seen; regardless of its viable and truthful content.

Truly, I expected nothing less.
