Hi All

I'm runningh Windows XP profession on an AMD PC and the
motherboard uses the via chipset (KLE133). Everything
works well except that when I power the modem up, the
system freezes. This is a terminal problem and can only
be solved by resetting the machine.

I have tried different modems and am currently using a
3Com 56K Faxmodem, which installs perfectly under XP.

If the modem is switched on at the time that the PC is
booted up, then no freezing problems occur.

I have also downloaded the Service pack 1a and post
service pack updates and hotfixes.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Many Thanks.
Charles.
