I was on my computer last night....asus p4p800....just got up to get a
coffee when I hear a loud "bang".....nothing coming from my system now...not
even the green light....what are the worse best scenerios, anyone? I can

Buy another power supply. The main capacitor in the power supply
just blew. Pray that it didn't send a killer transient into the
motherboard.

Post back what brand and model number the PS was, for the benefit
of those shopping for a supply.

Sounds like either your power supply unit or motherboard died.

A capacitor exploded. Most likely in the power supply, but could be in
the motherboard. Try a new power supply first. It's possible that it
could have taken out LOTS of stuff (motherboard, CPU, RAM, disk drives),
and it's also possible that there was no "collateral damage" of any kind
at all.
