Email the author of this web site. Maybe he has a used/tested
board to sell you. Email link is at the bottom of the page.
He visits this newsgroup regularly, as well.

P2L97-DS
P2B-D(S)
CUV4X-D(LS)
That's about it, I think. None of those is likely to be available new
these days.

Also a variant with the Apollo Pro 266 (not 266T) chipset I think.
CUV266-D ? Something like that. I don't even remember if it used DDR or
SDR SDRAM.
And of course the slot-1 P3C-D with i820 and RDRAM.

If you go to www.supermicro.com you can sometimes talk you way into
some really sweet deals on discontinued products. When it comes to
dualie or quad motherboards, Asus has a lot to learn from SuperMicro.
Personally, I wouldn't bother unless you already have a couple of
fast P3s on hand. If you are also looking at having to buy the
processors, then get a dual Socket A motherboard and a couple of
fast Durons. More bang for less bucks. Great way to build a
cheap dualie.

For the older AMD Athlons and Durons, no mods are needed.
You just plug them in and see if they work.
For the Thoroughbred core Athlons, you need to fiddle with
the L5 bridge on the cpu. Searching the web for
"L5 bridge" Athlon
will get you detailed instructions.
