help needed, has anybody had this problem?, or a resolve?
1500 athlon AMD laptop, blue screens trying to use serial
port to usb port adaptor on smart card reader. checked and
downloaded latest drivers from Prolific no luck

In the Bios, did you enable USB and Serial Ports and assign an IRQ to
them?
