I get these errors on boot of Win 2000 (NTFS) in the event viewver:

The device, \Device\Scsi\Ultra1, did not respond within the timeout
period.
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 during a paging
operation.

I read several post on this problem but I have not found a solution.

System configuration is:

Asus A7V motherboard (bios ver. 1011 currently BY BrazilianTech)
700Mhz Athlon
256MB SDRAM 100 Mhz
Disk: IBM-DTLA-300520 LBA 19,6 ULTRA DMA 5
Via Bus Master IDE Controller (version 5.0.2195.120)
Prommise Ultra100 IDE controller (bios 2.20.014)
NIC 2com etherlink XL PCI (3C900-COMBO)
ASUS CD-S500/A
NVidea Riva TNT2 Ultra

Current BIOS setup:

Primary Master IDE=NONE
Primary Slave IDE=NONE
Secondary Master IDE=NONE
Secondary Slave IDE=NONE

Boot section
Removable: Legacy floppy
IDE: None
ATAPI: ASUS CD-S500/A
Other: Int 18 Network card

Boot SCSI/ATA100: [SCSI/ATA100]
Load onboard ATA BIOS: [Auto]

this is my BOOT.INI

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000
Server" /fastdetect

I dont know how your systems boots!!!!

I think that in "Other boot device" you should have: Onboard ATA100 boot
device/SCSI

(this should be for booting from a network)

Yikes!

Which Windows driver? I recommend 2.00.0.42 (look for U100TX2 drivers).

I would create a SMART log by means of DTemp or smartctl, this might
show whether something is wrong with the hard drive. (DTLAs usually
don't show that much in the SMART values when they're dying, but hey,
it's worth a try.)
